The Marathi Association

Marathi vidyarthi Sangh was formed last year under the initiatives taken by few of our senior students. The idea of forming this group was more of a coincidence than anything else. The group dance "Dagala Lagli". which rocked the revels last year and the "Sapne mein milti hai" blockbuster this year which animated the Revels lead to the dissemination of this association. The objective of this club is to promote and spread the Marathi culture which is rich in heritage. The aim of this association is to develop a sense of brotherhood among the Maharashtrian community in and around M.I.T. Emphasis is laid on the point that one need not know or be acquainted with the Marathi culture, but should express his interest in doing so. Now the club has very ambitious plans for the future under the able leadership of Nitish Baliga.

The Marathi Vidya Sangh is trying to make Maharastrians to feel at gome and usher in the nostalgia associated with it. This club has been a fun loving, cool and interesting club . During the year they collected money during the Ganesh festival and with this money distributed prasad to all the believers. This club is not only for Maharashtrians but also those who are interested to know more about Marathi culture and revel in its glory.
